Hi, I've owned a 2016 Mazda MX-5 Recaro Edition since last November and, whilst I absolutely love the looks and handling, I'm already considering selling it because I want something that sounds better, especially when driven hard. Before I do that, however, I'm willing to consider trying some engine or exhaust upgrades. That said, I don't want it to sound like a chav wagon! hehe

Any suggestions?

No personal experience of either of these recco's but have you looked at the usual default answers of BBR or Skuzzle?

Decat manifold & remap + silencer. Should be mandatory.

The decat manifold & remap will take it from 158 to around 180bhp and make it sound slightly fruitier...the silencer will make it sound much fruiter and give you some nice pops, bangs and burbles too. It'll be a little boomy off the throttle, most noticable dropping from about 2500 to 1500 i.e. pootling about town, but you'll get used to it and its not chavvy. If you get a decat manifold, make sure you get a 'road' silencer not 'race' because race will be too loud.

I've got a BBR Super 180 (with Cobalt silencer) and suggest you speak to BliNK, Roddisons or Skuzzle, depending on which of them is nearest.

Also, check out the fb group NC Europe.

I've got this exhaust fitted to my Sport Recaro https://rev9autosport.com/fujimura-gentle-sound-ex... along with a BBR Super 200 kit and a Mishimoto airbox, quite it isn't.

I would say that Gentle Sound is a Japanese attempt at an oxymoron.

Weather permitting I shall be at the MX5 Spring Rally if you want to hear it in person.
