Right of the bat I will admit that whilst I know cars very well in general my knowledge of MX5 's could be written on the back of a postage stamp , hence my appeal to those that do know a little more then me .

I work in the automotive industry and have done for 39 years so doing a pre purchase inspection and fixing any latent faults will not be a problem for me .

My question is more about the values of these cars , to be specific we are due to take in part exchange a MK3 2.0ltr Sport , one owner , FSH with 47,000 miles , its on a 58 plate and has a 6 speed manual box with Bose audio and leather .

It has a few very minor age related marks that to be frank most would not even see , but other than that it looks like a much loved and cared for car , and as I have always fancied one of these I am considering pressing the button for a bit of summer top down fun .

I have done some research and I am struggling to find a comparable car for sale to price point this one .

The company I work for have offered me this car at £3500.00 which on the face of it sounds like a steal .

I would appreciate any feedback to guide me through this .

Thanks in advance , LMV .

Sounds like a good deal. Well looked after sports are usually around the 4 to 5k mark.

Sounds like a good deal. If you don’t like it, you won’t loose money on it .
