I run a Mk1 Eunos, and the eyeball vents on the drivers side refuse to stay in position for more than a few moments before slipping and pointing anywhere but my hands. Now, I only have the roof up if it's raining, so this time of year my hands really need the warm air on them! I've swapped over one of the good vents from the passenger side, but the far left vent is truly wodged in and totally refuses to pop out.

I did think of working out the correct alignment and putting a dab of hot glue on the back to permanently position it, but I want to be able to move it.

I don't want to wear gloves either.. Or buy a new one (£35 on MX5 Parts!!)

Are there any other options you can think of to repair/bodge it?

Pop the ball out with a couple of bits of the clear plastic used in a bubble pack. Some people recommend credit cards but I find these too thick.

Push these in at 1/4 to 3. When the ball pops out remove the ring of tape carefully. Put a ring of electrical tape round and replace the friction
tape over the top. Pop the ball back in.

Its so easy you will end up doing all of them.

I just pointed mine down as far as they'd go, then stuck an inch of insulation tape to the top on the ball, set them central, job jobbed.

They've not moved since the summer.
