Hi all,

As the title says really, driving along the other day when I heard a 'thud' and when I stopped listening to Talksport I discovered that both my door speakers are no longer working. The reason why I mentioned Talksport was because its very trebley & I only discovered I had no bass when I put on some proper music.

I have had a look at the fuse diagrams for the car and can't find anything except something that says stereo and as that is clearly still working I am guessing that changing that won't help. I am hoping that there is something within the wiring/fuses that I can change to fix it before I have to take it to specialist.

I changed the standard hi fi on that car to a JVC unit a few months ago as the CD player stopped working and I do not play jungle or have turned the bass way up. Bit baffled to be honest as to why its happened.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

There won't be any fuses that affect the speakers. As you have changed the head unit, carefully pull it back out and check the wiring and plugs at the back of the unit.

Pulled the unit out and checked all the wiring, no change. The original head unit from the car still works as a radio so I will be plugging that back in later to see if it might be the new unit.

In a way I hope it is, changing the door speakers & associated wiring sounds like an expensive job. frown
