MX5's more than most cars need driving, thrashing and enjoying...... a 9K MX5 is also likely to be kept with the mindset to keep the miles off for the value.

Do not want.

Why does it "need" driving? What on earth could possibly be caused by not driving it that you can't rectify for a few quid? Parts are dirt cheap and extremely easily available to refresh any part of this car. At best you replace the suspension bushes and things like pads/discs and oil, at worst an entire engine can be had for a few hundred quid.

Rust is the major killer on these, worse on mk2s - if it's been stored properly and is truly rust free then that is the holy grail of mk1s and especially mk2 MX5s, and it's easily worth paying more for one with no rust issues compared to relatively minor things like replacing the suspension bushes or similar.

If it was mine then the NB2s performance edge would have been dulled by the weight of all of the Bilt Hamber that was now filling its sills and chassis legs...

MK2's are worse than NA's for rust! This thankfully has not one single bit on it and as you can see in the video is like new on the underside.

Even more reason to protect it properly then, isn’t there?
