A couple of questions about a Eunos S-Spec
Discussion
Hi,
I'm currently looking to buy my first MX-5, ideally an S-Special 1.8.
Trawling the web I think I've found one - 1996 S-Spec - however there are a couple of things that I'd like to double check against people more knowledgeable than me if you don't mind
The one I'm looking at doesn't have air conditioning, I'm most likely wrong but I thought Eunos models had air con as standard?
It's not really an issue as I'd take no rust (which this appears to have none) over aircon.
The speedometer reads Kph, how easy is it to change this for Mph?
Also this one has manual mirrors, is it possible to retrofit electrically adjustable mirrors?
Any help is appreciated, thanks

I don't know about whether AC was standard, but I can tell you it uses an ancient gas which is impossible to get and a PITA to convert, so the lack is not much of an issue.
Speedo is easily done by replacing the dial face, MX5parts have a selection. Odo stays in KMs. Job can be done with a screwdriver, just be careful to put the needle back on in the same position it came off from.

A/C was an option on most models in Japan but due to their climate, it was a very common option. There are plenty of import Roadsters with no A/C, leccy mirrors or windows. Despite what the inter web might tell you, they aren’t always higher spec or in better condition than a U.K. spec car. Usually yes but not always.

A/C is easy to convert from R12 to R134, A company converted ours in a few hours whilst fitting a new universal condenser. The Mk1 & 2 condenser is NLA now and has been for awhile. Total bill was £380Gassing Station | Mazda MX5/Roadster/Miata | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
