Coolant change - radiator now foaming!
Discussion
Hi
I put some Wynn's Rad Flush in with the old coolant.
Ran the engine then drained it.
I then stuck a hose in the rad and ran it till Clearwater was coming out of the rad.
The car was parked on a sloped road. The nose down the boot higher.
I then put in the new Anti Freeze. I was only able to get in about 4 litres. I know it should take 6.
I ran the engine with the radiator cap off heater on full. Foam then started appearing out of the radiator cap.
I figured this was just air escaping. But I couldn't get more antifreeze into the system.
I then moved the car around, parked it with the nose higher. Ran it again with the radiator cap off with heat on full. Foam still appearing.
I took it for a drive, temperature was fine. Now just waiting for it to cool down. Again it's parked on a sloped road with its nose higher.
Have I just got a massive air lock?
Or did I not drain out all of the rad flush?
Or is it all fine?
Thanks
R

I would keep checking the temperature and the levels. If the temperature stays as normal and the level does not drop then its okay. If not its just a case of putting it on a level area and making sure that you drain the system of all the water and top up after with good mix.
