Hi Guys,

Anyone seen anything like this before.

MK3

As you will know, there is an adjustment switch to change the height of the headights …

I was driving along this evening, and the as can be seen in the youtube clip below:

https://youtu.be/m07fNEeioD8

At about 04 seconds, I switch to high beam

Between about 13 – 17 seconds, you can see the main beam dropping. I did not touch the switch. I didn’t notice this as I was looking far ahead at the time.

At about 46 seconds in, I switch off high beam due to oncoming traffic, the issue is then very clear. The range of the main beam is way way too short – fortunately no harm done, but on a narrow country road that could have been a bit different.

As can be seen in the remainder of the clip, I briefly turn the lights off/on, no difference, only when I remember about the headlight adjustment (about 1:14) and I turn the switch to the lowest setting then back up, and then you can see the headlights return to the correct position.

Thing is, even on the lowest setting of the switch, the headlight range is not as ‘short’ as in the clip.

Any ideas.

Martin
