Replacement / head unit upgrade for 2005 MX5 Icon

Hi all,

I'm looking at upgrading my factory head unit but the problem I'm having is that the console fascia is the silver one that comes with the Icon. I like the way it looks but not against aftermarket head units which all come in black and stick out like a sore thumb against the fascia.

Unless there's a silver double din aftermarket unit, I'm looking at installing an amp which will run to the speakers but I have no experience of doing this. Am I able to get a small amp and then find an appropriate harness to join the wires together without having to do any serious rewiring or will it require a more specialist installation.

Can you post a picture of the dash? I can’t remember ever have seen the inside a MK2.5 Icon. It’ll help answer your question.
