Mk1 intermittent misfire

On a run out yesterday my mk1 started jerking and misfiring very disconcerting.
I got it home and inspected under the bonnet and nothing looked loose or disconnected.
I drove it later and it seems to happen between 1000...to 1800 revs then it's normal. It starts perfectly and tick over is unaffected. Any clues out there?

Likely culprit is the HT leads. They are cheap enough, that you can try new ones. Dont get the cheapest ones you can find though.

After trying new HT leads, I'd be looking at the coilpack, and if not that, the CAS.
