Hi all
I have a mk3 2.0 l turbo gearbox just gave up so looking to get exchange box is there any real difference between the nc1 or nc2 gearboxes I put an nc2 engine in when I had the turbo done because of the stronger internal any advice would help

Sorry to hear about the gearbox. As a fellow Mk3 turbo owner, what power and torque were you running? I'm on a BBR stage 2 - so 300 bhp but not sure what torque...

2010 on Gearboxes are stronger.

The problem always is no-one takes them apart and reports back what broke, if they did and it's a recurring theme then it's possible a stronger part could be made for it.

In the early boxes it’s the 3rd gear synchro that fails. But the bearings can also wear on the 4thgearshaft.

Other issue is a broken selector fork

Thanks for the replies casing is OK so all new gears and bearings complete new innards a recon gearbox £500 this is only costing £750 so hopefully will handle the power, no problem ;-)
