I recently bought a mk1 MX5 to help my wife learn to drive - we lucked out and found a low mileage, good mechanical condition V-Spec 1.8 - black with tan interior, and we both love it, and plan to restore it slowly back to showroom condition.

It's got the tan interior, and the drivers side seat is torn in the seat area and on the bolster - looks beyond a leather repair to me.

Could anyone recommend somewhere for seat re-trimming? (I know it won't be super cheap). Id like to go with a recommended company, as I don't want to end up with a mis-matched colour or just a poor job in general

It's the MX5 owners Club meet at Gaydon in a few weekends time. I'm sure there will be people there who can help.

I'm interested to follow this thread as the driver seat on my mk1 is bolster worn and I m looking to replace the seat cover myself. I spoke to a mk1 owner at Bicester in January who had done the same to his and told me he had bought the replacement kit on the net but I haven't managed to track any such yet.

Speak to Steve Bloxham at Goodwood Sportscars and see if a)he can offer the service or b)he can put you in touch with the people he uses.

When I bought my fresh import V-Special from him 2 years ago, a retrim was included in the price and I have had lots of compliments on the condition of my seats since I bought it.
