Emergency Spare Wheel for ND MX5
Discussion
Okay, here's hoping someone else has explored this:
I have a ND MX5 1.5 (lucky bugger) and it only comes with the tin of foam and a compressor... It runs on 195/50/16 tyres.
I'm looking at finding an emergency spare - on ebay have been offered one with a Continental tyre and is 115/70/16.. which is definitely a smaller rolling diameter - it does , however, fit in the boot (just). Anyone actually tried this? I spoke to Madza dealer parts man and he said it will affect the tyre pressure monitor and maybe the traction control light , but will be reset when a proper size wheel is put on again.
My thought is that it will be 'okay' especially if I put the emergency spare on the front wheels - ie not the driven ones..
What do you guys think?
