1.8 SVT into mk1

My 2003 1.8 SVT has been put out of its misery with a recent bump in a supermarket car park.
No surprise it was written off as it was/is pretty rough, with the dreaded tin worm doing its worst. The settlement from the insurance co was a fair one and I get to keep the car too.
I'm thinking of using it as a donor for a mark 1 and using it as a summer toy with occasional track days changing the engine and gearbox for the newer one.
Anyone done this conversion? I understand the ecu and fuel pump need changed for the original.
Anything else likely to catch me out?
