This is doing my nut in, my MK3 has has the BBR 200 kit fitted so a bit more powerful than standard and it's been lowered to speed bump scraping levels

Currently it's got Falken on the front and kormoran on the back, both on about 3.5mm

I'd decided on Michelin pilot super sports as costco have one of their offers on in a week but then I read good reviews on kumho, firestone and avon or the cheaper pilot sport 4

so am I wasting £200 putting super sports on a MX5 or is it the best decision I'll ever make when it comes to improving the handling of the car

If you can get all 4 corners done with those tyres for £200 I'd just go with that. You'll be paying pretty much twice as much for the others and even if there are differences they aren't worth paying twice as much for. I've got PS3's and they are perfectly good enough, went with them because they last longer than the others but they won't last more than twice as long as the Pilot Super Sports while costing over £100 a corner

I've gone from Falken to Super Sports. I'm annoyed with myself for skimping previously.

If you go for the Sport 4, see if you can get the Sport 4s instead.

I had Pilot Sports fitted to my NC (185PS) - huge improvement over the ditchfinders on the front. I was having the alloys refurbed and the Michelins happen to have rim protectors so went with them - could have saved £100 or so with Eagle F1s (which I'm told are equally good in the wet).

I'm putting NS2Rs on mine come Autumn, I know i'll have to go for a 215/45, but I think the wheel can take an extra 5mm each side and it will help the speedo error slightly.

Avon ZZ5 for me. I found them more compliant than the OE Michelins, so I've always gone with the Avons. Others may be better, but I don't want to risk changing to something I'm not happy with.

You'll notice a MASSIVE difference compared to what's currently fitted. I use these as a summer tyre on my SC NBFL & rate them highly.

I had AD08R's fitted on my 16" mk3 and yes they do make a difference, slightly more road noise though....
