MX-5 NB (mk2.5) A/C compressor seized
Discussion
Hi there. I have recently got a Mk2.5 Indiana MX-5 but noticed it has the wrong PAS/AC belt fitted, which was rubbing on the AC compressor.
Elected to replace it with the correct AC belt but have discovered that the compressor is seized (!)
A few questions:
Is it difficult to free up the compressor in situ or am I best removing it? Is it a job to remove?
Is it safe to leave the belt off and drive without PAS?
Any advice on this much appreciated.
Many thanks :-)
