MX5 NC Scuttle Removal

Hi all.

I usually keep my 06 nc garaged however after a rainy weekend away I now have a damp passenger footwell!

I'm planning on removing the scuttle to reseal the grommet which appears to be leaking.

Could anyone that has already had to do this let know the best way to remove the scuttle so I can stop this leak!?

easy. Pop out the plastic cover over the screw. undo the screw and remove white square seal thingy. fill with loads of clear silicone and replace parts. no need to remove the scuttle. once the plastic screw cover is out you will see what I am talking about. I tried to replace the white plastic bit on mine but it failed again after a year. so far the silicone has held out for a year and a half.

I replaced the plastic Grommet and sealed it with Sikaflex, replacements are quite cheap see link below;
