Mk2 Clutch on the way out - replace/upgrade?
Discussion
So, as I prepare to put the 180,000th mile on the Mk2 California we've owned since new, it's having the temerity to demand a new clutch!
I'm following the policy of rolling-overhaul/upgrade of the car at the moment, replacing bits as I go with stuff that's better than original where possible or justified. Looking at new clutch kits, these seem to range from about £100 for a direct replacement, up to about £400 for things describing themselves as "Stage 2" or the like.
Is there any point in any of these 'better' ones? While the car is mechanically standard at present, there may be more power in the future, so at what point does an upgraded clutch become sensible, or am I better saving my pennies for now and keeping it stock?
Ta!
