MK3.5 sport tech air con help needed

The aircon in my partners mk3.5 has stopped working, the Orange light comes on, the fan comes on but that's it, The relay does not click, I have swopped the relay over just to make sure. the heater works ok. All of the fuses seem ok.

The odd thing as I said earlier is that the relay doesn't click, so it doesn't get as far as the pressure switches,

When I do an odb scan, there is no reaction to turning the switch on and off,

clearing the windscreen is pretty important this time of year so any help would be very gratefully received.

Have you had the system to checked for leaks and is there sufficient gas in the system. The AC relay is switched by the PCM, but.. if the gas pressure is too low i.e. Insufficient gas, the PCM won't switch the relay so as to protect the compressor.

The system on the 3.5 has a low and a medium pressure switch, so it's not just as simple as bypassing the low pressure switch to fool the system either.

thanks for the replies chaps, it has the correct amount of gas and isn't leaking, looks like this is going to be a complicated one.
