Non OEM ABS Sensor

Yes, I did.

You may need to puchase an M8 tapping drill and M8 tap to fit the new one since the securing bolt on the OEM one is almost certainly rusted in and will take a lot of effort to remove. You will almost certainly snap the head off it trying to undo it. Try LOTS of release agent first.
You will then have to 'bully' the old sensor out with hammer and plumbers wrench. Been there - done it!

Good luck

This is the second one to fail , the first was diagnosed ( for which I had to pay ) then repaired , almost £300 in total .
Then I googled how to diagnose , expecting to have to buy a OBD reader , only to find out all I needed was a short length of wire doh
I thought a dry joint was the problem , but in the end the ABS sensor failed ,Having been ripped off ( IMOHO ) for a £40.00 30second diagnostic using a bent paper clip , then not to have the diagnostic credited to the price of having the fix I decided to DIY ,so with lots of help from Youtube , I went for the Eurocarparts unit , which came in a Japspares box ,first thing was to plug the unit into the harness to see if the fault light extinguished ,which it did
This morning I set about replacing the faulty unit . As expected the bolt head snapped off ,so with a bit of filing to get a flat top I drilled the old bolt out , tapped a new 8mm thread , dug out the remains of the old sensor , having fitted the new one ,much to my relief every thing works , bit of a long day fiddling , and having to make a trip to Screwfix for a tap and die set , but very satisfying , and lots of money saved .
