MK 1 drivers door lock Spring replacement .

The Spring has become detached on the drivers door hence the lock won't work . Anyone undertaken a repair on these as I suspect it's at least fiddly ?

Very Easy, the door card can be removed with the door shut

Push the catch, where the broken spring should be, to release the door.



Fitting the new spring is fiddly but not difficult. I put the spring in place on the side closest to the door skin (left side in the photos) then pulled the catch towards me using my middle finger and used my index finger to slot the spring over the other end.



Took about 45 minutes all in.
