RS Recaro seats
Discussion
After spending 2 years in an SLK55 and realising that I am sick of having a car that is only fun when my licence is in immense danger, I'm in the process of buying a Eunos RS. I briefly owned a Eunos last year so I can't wait to get back into one.
The RS I'm getting seems like a nice car and is very close to stock. Unfortunately the original Kevlar Recaro seats are missing and I'd love to return the car to stock. I've done a lot of googling and searching but I can't find a set of seats for sale anywhere. Does anyone know of a set for sale, or know if there is a very close equivalent that I could look to get instead?

Is this the one from Goodwood Sportscars, looks like a nice example.
Yes it is, nice spot! I've been following his stock for ages and this seemed like exactly what I was after. Initially I thought I wanted one of his pristine fresh imports, but given that it's going to be for track use and general silliness a pristine car seems like a stupid purchase!tomglibbery said:

Excellent choice, have fun with it.BigTom85 said:
Originals are rare and sell for very strong money when they do come up, like £1400 strong!
Lots of seats will fit without much work - anything from an Elise take your fancy?
Now that is an idea I like! I've always been a fan of the Elise seats and I'm sure there's plenty about I could pick up fairly cheaply. How easy a job would it be to fit them?Lots of seats will fit without much work - anything from an Elise take your fancy?

Have you actually sat in any? They are crap. I couldn't believe how uncomfortable they were and was amazed someone would actually give me £1k for a worn out pair. Save your money and get some MK2 Elises ones. The RS I'm getting seems like a nice car and is very close to stock. To be honest, as a 'larger' gentleman I strongly suspect that I'd find them horrible! It's just me being fussy and wanting to be able to return it to stock in the future. I think for actual track use/fast road driving the Elise seat option is fantastic and I'll definitely keep my eye out for some tidy ones. Thanks all :-)

Bizarrely I'm in a similar position! Have had a CLK 55 for over 6 years which I'm keeping but have been looking on and off for an RS Limited.
Have you driven a few yet?
I can never make up my mind if the lack of performance would just be too much for me to live with. Would need to swap out the suspension too so by that time I wonder whether I would be better with a modded mx5 rather than an original RS.
As for the seats, I love the recaros

I went through a similar thought process and, in the end, bought an NA 1.8 S-Special from a poster on here (and Nutz), as I knew I'd probably modify it a bit and so a £2k project car was fine (and totally rust-free).Have you driven a few yet?

2 years later though, and the lack of power is bothering me a bit - so it's either turbo, or get rid. Since I bought the car my income has risen a bit so I find myself able to afford an s2 Elise, and so that's probably the route I'm going to go down and, due to a lack of garage space, sell my '5. Been a great car to own - and with a GCF roll bar and Meister R suspension one that's been really good fun to punt down B-roads - I'll miss it for sure. Hell, just writing this makes me think that I should keep it.

Ive not driven an RS at all actually, but I've driven a few different Eunos' so I'm confident I'm happy. Have you driven a few yet?

There's a very nice RS for sale at the moment here:

Seems cheap given the condition!
The lack of performance is worrying me, but there's always the option to fit a supercharger!
