Broken Gear Stick Return- Mk2.5

Hi,

Recently my MX5 (2005 sport, 6 speed box) return spring has gone so my gear stick no longer returns from 1st/2nd to central.

Has anyone had this problem before? Haven't found much online or in Haynes.
