Anyone interested in a group-buy of the V8 Roadster tubular control arms? I had a chat with them about possibly licencing the design and getting them manufactured here, but they didn't want to do that.

I think we could negotiate a discount if we bought quantity tho. Anyone else interested?

Definitely interested depending on price.

Might be worth posting on mx5nutz or the likes to see if more people would be interested.

The full price is $1700. I've not got a negotiated price yet as I wanted to get a rough idea of numbers first.

Some engineers that re in the process of building MEV kit cars have designed their own tubular arms.... I'll try to find the thread later today. They were at Stoneleigh kit car show.

Might be an option that they can be built in the uk!

That'd be cool.

Someone else mentioned the MEV cars as an option, but couldn't see it on the site, and the forum threads I found talked about wanting them, but noone making them (yet)

Tim at TR Lane in Stroud made some a couple of years ago, for a prototype 7-style kit car he was developing. He was thinking about whether there was a market for them. Maybe worth getting in touch?

Thanks for that SW. I bought TRLane's supercharger kit a couple of years ago, so I'll drop him a line and see what's what.

Hmmmm... Think your timing is pretty bad with the current exchange rate of around 1.3. Add shipping and duty not likely to have much change out of £1500. Which is a lot!
What would be the advantages over looking great? Would they really be that much lighter? not sure strength is an issue with the original pressed steel items.

Sorry don't mean to put a downer on the idea but refurbishing original arms with MOOG ball joints and uprated bushes seems like a cheaper and more viable option.

^ this mainly biggrin

I'm doing an engine swap and will have a tubular steel subframe as part of that. It'd just be nice to have matching suspension arms rather than just refurbing the rusty pressed steel ones that are on it now.

Fair enough. We all like a bit of "bling"
