Thought i would start a thread on where people have been in their mx5's.
What roads they enjoyed the most and some nice pictures to look at also.
Lets share your amazing drives with all the owners. Enough road space for all our 5's, just dont tell everybody else, we dont want all the roads clogged up now.

This is my first proper long drive in the mx5, have done all these roads before in other cars but been waiting for the weather to take mx5 out properly.

Woke up at 8 yesterday and headed out to some of my favourite roads in scotland.
Had a blast with top down and amazing rare good weather.
Started in my home town of alexandria near lochlomond went up the a82 along the west of loch
Which has nice views but the road is a tad boring drive the first 20miles.

Once your past tarbet things get interesting as you snake along a very narrow winding road that is cut into the rock running as close to the banks of loch lomond.

Stayed on a82 north towards glencoe. The views are spectacular with the whole way and you really feel in the middle of nowhere at times.
When you get to glen coe the setting always amazes me with how perfect it is.

One of my favourite roads i have ever driven is the kinlochleven ring road and i had to do the 20 mile detour round the ring as i hadnt done it in my mx5 before.
This road just doesnt get old and was all the better in my na. Cant recommend it enough.

So next i headed up to fort william for a bit of lunch. The road is nice running along waterside with some nice flowing corners.

After lunch we decided to go back via the west coast and down towards Oban. Road is quite fast along west coast on was in a pretty busy oban before i knew it. Turns out was a music festival on so a few bodies and a nice buzz about the place. Got an icecream from the pockyhat then started the journey home again.

We went back a little and joined the a85 over towards damally the took a tight over the hills to inveraray then along towards arrochar.

When i got to arrochar i took the rollercoaster road to helensburgh which is a must for anybody up here driving. The key is to not go to fast as you will find yourself air born or bottoming out oretty quickly. Nice challenging bit of road i drive regularly.
Took the base road back over to meeg the a82 then home.
Was a brilliant drive and roads mostly quiet. Appart from a new 911 i seemed to have seen twenty times i was the quickest thing on the road. They say the mx5 is slow but up here its more than fast enough.
All in all a great day out and amongst the most enjoyable drives i have ever had. The more i own this little motor the more i love it. I havent driven my 330i in 6 months but can't bare to sell it even if mx5 is getting all the use. May have to stop driving it as i have limited mileage that wont last long as this rate.

Also these cars are so well made, past mot last week with no advisories and took my half way round the country and never skipped a beat despite the thrashing i give it. Not bad for a 20 year old car.

Thanks for reading and hope it inspires you to get your car out and driven properly.

Dont know why it insists on spinning all my pictures.
Anyway where has your mx5 been today?........

It appears so. No idea why it flips some and not others, they are all taken with same camera the same way, yet half the pictures have decided to flip.
Gumtree does the same thing. Used to do it with my iphone and still does it with samsung so no clue why.
