My indicator stalk has broken on my 1998 mk1 1.8 mx5.
I'm trying to find a replacement on ebay but can only seem to find ones for a mk2.
My car has the stalks coming out of the top of the column like the mk2 and also has an airbag.

Will an early mk2 part fit?
e.g. this
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MAZDA-MX5-MK2-INDICATOR-...

Mazda gave the part number as: N03866120A
But cant order as its on back order....oh and they wanted £244+vat!

All help gratefully received as currently the indicators are on with the slightest movement of the stick (e.g. over bumps and also when the lights are on I can get them off full beam!

Have you tried autolink and mx5heaven

http://www.autolinkmx5.com/mazda-mx-5-parts-8-c.as...
http://www.mx5heaven.co.uk/
http://www.mx5heaven.co.uk/?s=stalk

They break MX5s so may well be able to pull the part you need off one.

Have asked MX5 Heaven as they have several for the MK1 but my one is a late mk1 1.8 so might have mk2 compatible parts on and looks like this might be one such case.

Mazda say its part no: N038, MX5 Heaven have a N002 or a N041 for the mk1 but also have a NC38 for the mk2. My car has an airbag so probably closer to the MK2 in that respect.
