Just about to receive a set of wishbones and hubs from a car being broken. Plan is to refurbish and put in new bushes.

I'm told the bearings and ball joints are in excellent condition, so I'm wondering if I can do a decent job with everything still connected - was planning on using deoxy gel and POR15 with a hardcoat on top.

As for bushes, I have access to a hydraulic press - pros and cons of IL Motorsports bushes versus Superpro fitted with grease nipples? I'll also be doing drop links/engine mounts/diff bushes/etc.

Car is driven daily on a 50 mile each way commute, plus 3-4 trackdays a year. 98 Nb RS, with GGP coil overs and soon a Jag 3l V6.

Are you doing the 3.0 V6 with a manual box? If so, what car are you sourcing it from? I quite fancy doing this myself at some point.

I am indeed.

History is something like this:

Chap developed and prototyped a conversion kit for the 3l v6 used in the S Type - for which engines are available easily and cheaply. Using new subframe, and hybrid clutch/flywheel with bellhousing adaptor to retain the mx5 drive train. That's been running a while, but he identified improvements in a number of areas.

Aiming for my car to be the 2nd validation prototype, once he's finished a house build and can arrange the manufacture of the new BoM.

Kit has been designed to comprise everything needed apart from mx5/engine, completeable in a weekend by a fairly savvy chap.

I used to have a 3.0 V6 S-Type, I'm wishing I hadn't got rid of it now.

Good luck with the prototype and keep us updated.
