I have an issue with my 07 mk3. when braking at less than 30 mph I get a click from the rear brakes. sometime the left side sometimes the right. or both sides at once. I have checked the calipers and fitted new pads. everything appears to be OK. the only thing I did notice was a bit of sideways play on the slide pins, not much but enough to notice. Do these pins wear? I have never replaced them on any other car but i have cleaned some sticking ones in the past. Anyone got any other ideas on what it could be. all bolts are tight, and there is no play in the suspension.

I'd be thinking more about drive-train.
Depending on which mark it could be Mk1 bolt-on drive-shafts at the hub end and/or a U/J in the prop-shaft or drive-shafts on later marks.
HTH.
Cheers, Pewe.

Thank but there is no play at all on any shafts or suspension joints.
