Hi all - I'm not a regular poster in this section, but I've a question...

I've had my '93 S-Special for almost a year now, and it's been laid up all winter - because of illness and work commitments I've given it very little thought since November, however it suddenly occurs to me that the battery will be flat and I should have put some sort of charger on it a while ago.

Can anybody recommend a good one that can save my battery? MX5 Parts sell the Optimate 4 which seems good - will that work on whatever battery is in my car (a Bosch I think)? Or are there better choices.

Cheers!

Hi have an unused good condition CTEK Zafir 90 which I used to use on my S2000. They were always a good choice when I bought mine.

I was meaning to sell it at some point but never got round to it.

I use the CTEK MXS 3.6 which is an older model and have had no issues in two years with it.

Have used both an Optimate and I own a CTEK 3.6 - both are very good at what they do, and have conditioned the batteries on my ICON well.

I have several of these

Do the job and can be permanently wired thanks to the waterproof connector. Why pay more?

No I sold it. I had three offers at the full asking price in the end. I miss it though, it was always fun to drive.
