Hi guys,

I'm thinking about raising the suspension on my mk3. The reason being I live in London and the little council-built mountain ranges that litter the roads are killing me. I have to crawl over every single island hump or it sounds like i'm shredding the bottom and I can feel the pain. I would have thought about an inch or a little bit more would do it for most of the speed bumps. Is this a straightforward and affordable job on a stock mk3? And I was wondering if anyone else has raised their car for any reason?

Cheers

Hi,
Are you sure it's not be lowered? Many Mk3s have been. Standard they ride pretty high, certainly no problem over any legal speep bump.

It's very possible it had been lowered before I bought it. It got so bad that I buggered up the heat shield on the cat and had it removed. It's very rare I'll go over an island bump without a scratch and that's just me in an empty car.

Have you got pics?
(I had a mk3 on Eibachs & it was rare I had problems.)
