Got myself an MX-5 at last!!
Discussion
Regular readers on this forum will have noticed a clutch of posts in recent months from mw, asking questions about MX-5s and I am pleased to confirm that I have finally bought one.
Its my first RWD car since a Morris Traveller- 19 years ago - and just had an absolutely blast on the drive from Salisbury to my home near Bournemouth, chucking it through the roundabouts on the A31..
Its a Mk2 1.8S, which has been owned by the same person for 10 years and a guy who is an aircraft engineer and petrolhead who has had everything replaced that could possibly need replacing including the rear sills. Its had new tyres, new wheels, a service and brake calipers within the last 1,000 miles
It isn't 100% rust free, I'll be honest (its bloody hard finding one that is), but I am just going to enjoy it whilst it lasts. At £1200, its hardly the end of the world if the rust takes hold and I have to move it on.
As for now, I have a big grin on my face!
