Headlight popping

Hi everyone, please help!!! This is a problem which has been going on for a good while now, which leaves me in the position that I have an MX5 convertible that I am unable to drive in the summertime LOL. My headlights are popping up as I'm driving along at frequent intervals and driving me mad. The very worse symptom is when I park somewhere, go away, and come back to them in full bloom sticking skywards. Of course numerous times now my battery has been run down. I'm backwards and forwards to my auto electrician John who just the other day thought he had solved the problem. Alas not. He's changed the relay part but this doesn't seem to have made the slightest difference. I would be very grateful if anyone could point us in the right direction here but please remember this ONLY EVER happens when the sun gains in strength at this time of the year,

I don't have a solution but only a temporary fix. Disconnect the actuators and raise them manually when required, at least the battery won't drain?

UK or Eunos. Does it have a flash to pass modification? If it does remove it and see if that helps. See if you can get a switch stalk from a scrapyard to replace yours.
