What have I done to my mx5??

I don't use my 91 mk1 eunos much but 2 weeks ago I took it for a long spirited drive

As I was nearing home I stopped at the lights to pull onto the slip road. I nailed it off the lights quite aggressively and as I was half way up the slip road the clutch started slipping in every gear. In 5th it would simply rev with no drive and absolutely stank of burnt clutch, even with the roof down.

I pulled over on the hard shoulder and waited 5 mins. I was on the phone to the AA and thought I would try it again. I pulled off absolutey fine. In fact the clutch felt better than ever

Since then I have tried to re created what happened without joy. City centre driving , aggressive lauchess and driving quite hard but I can't make the clutch slip what so ever

I'm still getting the slight whiff of burnt clutch but it feels fine.

I can't work out what' happened. I'm going to sell it in the near future so I was going to get my local garage to fit a new clutch as I want it spot on for the new owner but it seems fine ??

Probably just overheated the clutch. If its OK now I wouldn't worry about it. Probably reduced its lifespan a bit but not the end of the world.
