So my Eunos is an import, it has a rear fog light that has been bodged in and wasn't working when I bought it last month.

MOT is soon, can I just remove the light housing from the back and the bodged switch under the steering wheel? Or will I fail for not having a rear fog light?

You do have to have a rear fog light to pass the MoT.

Need it for the mot just wire it in to either the 3rd brake light or the reverse light but will need a red light bulb.

Fog light not required for MOT if you 'don't drive at night' or something isn't it?

Just wire it into your offside (right) reverse light with a red bulb in the holder

What if it gets foggy during the day?!

Thanks for the replies chaps, planning to do the reverse light mod asap!

Might need to replace the bumper to get rid of the ugly cutout...

One point Andrew, I got failed last year as my fog light switch on my fresh import did not have a "tell tale" light to tell you that they are on. It's bonkers as the one I replaced it with does indeed have a light but it's on the switch and near as dammit invisible unless you drive around with your head under the dash. I bet many MoT stations wouldn't care but worth knowing just in case.

The current switch is under the steering wheel lower cover, planning on buying the proper switch for UK spec models and using that.

You can MOT without lights, but I believe that the foglamp is required.

The switch on my UK model doesn't have a tell tale, but a light on the clocks illuminates instead.

Its the function that is stipulated, not the lamps location.

I know that, just unsure whether a Eunos has the tell tale in the clocks? It's one of the four right in the middle.

My MK1 Eunos Roadster definitely doesn't have a fog indicator in the instrument cluster (and I've had the cluster completely apart to modify it to fit a knock/shift light too). I fitted on of these switches which looks OEM, and includes the light in the switch:

Judging by the description, it looks like Mazda might have tweaked the light in the switch specifically for the JDM version.
