Yes in this day of cars getting more and more bloated Mazda seem to have turned the clock back. Nice work.

It seems to be a lot smaller, apart from width, so less metal, less kg. QED. It would be interesting to park one next to my mk 3.5 and see how it compared, I am thinking original mini to new massive BMW mini here.

The only thing that might be the fly in the ointment will be the electric steering. The hydraulic steering on the current car is really good, something important when you don't have 500bhp to enjoy. I just hope the new steering does not dull down the experience, a condom in other words.

Strangely although I have seen some reviews nobody comments on how it compares, or have I missed it?

I'll be surprised if the 2.0 litre independently weighs in at 925kg wet but without driver.

I don't think that Mazda have told the weight porkies that Alfa have done with the 4C but the official quotes (market dependent) are 1058kg for the 2.0 litre (wet, no driver) and 998kg for the base spec 1.5

Whatever the true weight ends up being it's a great car.

I assume you'll be tinkering with both. Care to share the plans?

I was thinking of putting a deposit or two down on these with a view to keeping one a selling the other. Anyone think there may be a premium on these or will they be just too mass produced to have that effect?

I'm so attached to my 3.5 and they aren't releasing the mk4 in True Red +MAD+ I am going to wait until I have driven the new model. I usually jump in feet first and buy without driving for a new model but this time I am going to wait. At least that's the plan..... smile

I'm sure I saw a transporter loaded with Mk 4's on the M25 on Friday 29th May. They were all dark red.

Probably not fake, but wonder how many other people have won it too? wink

See you there - I got one too!

(Although I'm sure mine said it was 50 winners, each with a plus one.)

Same as mine.

Anyway tickets arrived today, although according to letter there were items missing, badge and wristband, phoned them and it seems I got the wrong covering letter and I shouldn't need them. Covering letter mentions breakfast and lunch yum but if it's the wrong letter does that now not apply confused
