Hello from new MX5 owner!

Good morning everyone.

After trying to decide on what car to buy, I have just purchased a 2005 MX5 in blue.

Fingers crossed that the sun stays out so I can get lots of fun from it early into my ownership.

I look forward to chatting in this section, and hopefully attending some meetings.

Hi Sharon. The MX5 is a good choice. You should post some pictures up.

I see you were looking at Boxsters too, they are also great cars, but in a different league for running costs.

Is that a 2005 Mk2.5 or Mk3? They changed during that year

Yes, considered the Boxster but sensible head came on. I thought spending less for probably a similar amount of smiles seemed a better choice. Will get some pictures up ASAP.

And it's a 2.5 model.

I got my first MX5 when I was 31 so mine started early

I did have a brief look at Boxsters before being sensible too (2007 Mk 3 for me). I also had a look at the 2.5s for a while but decided to go as new as poss within my budget. Congrats anyway, enjoy. We are.

Great choice - my cousin drove my mx5 a couple of weeks back and now wants one himself, they are superb.

My misses has a boxster, but tbh i prefer the 5, it's sunny today, she's away, so have the choice of both cars to go to a mates bbq tonight and it'll be the mazda, always is. Strange given the ££ difference, but there you go.

The Boxster is faster and more luxurious, but the MX5 is small, lighter, more raw and more fun.

Hope all goes well for you. My niece has one, or to be more correct the use of one as her mum, whose car it is, is working abroad. Met her last week and had to do impromptu removal of front undertray which ran aground on a bit of driveway - not mine, I add. We're on our second MX - enormous fun!
