Chaps, afternoon. Just a very quick one, had a proper old school steam pouring from under the bonnet a few days ago. I've topped the system back up and I have split hose. Is this no.1 or 2

Thanks in advance...

It's probably the CAS (camshaft angle sensor) o-ring leaking oil on to the hose.

So order one of those and a new rocker cover gasket at the same time.

Exactly the same happened to me, you're right, it is very dramatic!

Are you going to replace No 2 whilst you're at it?
I appreciate it's a different looking hose but for what they cost it must be a worthwhile investment?
When I were a lad we used to check hoses by pushing into them quite hard with a flat bladed screwdriver - if it went in the hose was fooked, if not the it was OK - QED.
