Where for replacement Mk2 panels

I'm about to start sorting out my extremely crusty mk2 10AE and am just in the process of trying to source the panels. I've not cut into it yet but I'm pretty certain it will be a case of inner and outer sills and both rear arches.

Finding rear arches isn't a problem. However, the only place I can find with sill panels is mx5parts who can be a bit steep on the prices (their wings are about £20 more than some others).

If you're happy to use panels from broken cars, then look out on ebay and nutz, mx5oc etc. There's also a MX5 parts facebook group you could join; 10000+ members. If you're looking for a certain colour then obviously you might have to be patient.

Very hard to use used panels when it comes to sills.

Try Autolink UK. I'm sure they will have the panels at a reasonable cost. Failing that, get in touch with Gareth (The MX5 Restorer) and see where he sources his panels from.

Yeah, bolt on or sealed panels are reusable but drilling out a spot welded panel without resorting to a bit of cutting, hammering and grinding is tricky. Besides, a broken mk2 with solid sills is like looking for a unicorn that can piss gold and fart rainbows.

Contacting the mx5 restorer is a very good shout. The thought never occurred to me. Autolink had 1 outer will and it was 50% more expensive than the mx5parts one.
