Mk2 1.6 with turbo and E-manage immobiliser question
Discussion
I have a readers car thread running about my bargin mx5 but I need some help!
It is a 1999 mk2 1.6 fitted with an evo turbo and Greddy E manage among other things. It has been sat for 3 years without being started or moved.
I have charged the battery which had been disconnected and still had 9 volts, I removed the spark plugs and cleaned them up, I turned it over with the plugs removed and got a spark although it wasnt the strongest ever. There is fuel getting to the cylinders as the plugs are slightly damp after turning it over.
As you have probably guessed by now it won't start!
The question I have is would it be normal for the stadard immobiliser to be removed? The dash light doesnt light at all. It is fitted with an aftermarket alarm/central locking.

Saw the thread in readers cars. Bargain work.
My mk2 supercharged is running a megasquirt ecu. My immob light doesn't come on during start up now. It just flashes permanently when driving.
Doesn't affect the car at all.
If you are only getting 9v on the battery the it's fked. It needs to read 12.something to be effective. Even then it could be duff. Try a new one or a known good one from another car.
