Hi Everyone.
I'm new to the world of mx5's. I bought a 2006 one second hand after a long held dream of buying one. However, my only gripe so far is the lack of details on the trip computer. Just trip a and b?! where's my mpg or range?! my old 2001 punto had that!
I have read that the mk3.5 has a mpg feature in the trip computer. My question is, is it possible for me to swap out the dials on my mk3 for that of a mk3.5 to add the mpg feature, or does it also require more work than that? I really dont want to go down the road of adding a scantron or other 3rd party dials. I like to keep the car as "OEM" as possible.
Thanks for any help!

Ok, thanks for your thoughts.
My logic is, if the scantron can obtain this information from a mk3 ecu, the data is being collected, just not displayed. So can it not just display on the dials if I install the mk3.5 instruments? I know nothing about auto electrics, but it sounds perfectly logical to me that it SHOULD work in theory. my only concern then would be the mileage. Is that stored by the ecu? If I swapped dials, would it still display the correct mileage?
I know these are specific questions, and thanks for any insight anyone might have.
