hello all, so i asked on here a while ago about a hesitation problem that i have with my imported 1.8 NA and tried a couple of things without much luck.

basically, over the three years i've had the car it has gradually developed a misfire. it used to occasionally hesitate but has got to the point where the car physically will not drive and is a pain! when its cold the idle is fine but when it gets to temperature thats it, the revs drop and it is on the verge of stalling, if you pick up the revs i get a lot of induction noise but no acceleration...

i only run the car in the summer so it has barely done any miles during the time i've owned it which is annoying! especially last year where it basically did 40miles- if that at the cost of 6 months tax and some insurance. its currently on approx 80K miles.

so since owning it and in an attempt to fix the hesitation, i first replaced the plugs and leads followed by the coil pack (it is a 3pin IIRC) with a unit from ebay which again could be faulty, i then changed the battery out for a new one, the temp sensor on the back of the block, took the ecu out to have a look for any signs of burning or visable breakages and have tried setting the base idle.

its got to the point where i dont know what else to try as taking it to a garage will more than likely end in a large bill for things that i have already tried changing... does anyone have any ideas that i could try? the car has been stood for aprroximately 6 months now so i need t get the thing running again!

any information would be highly appreciated!

thanks!
