Hey guys, just looking for some critique and opinions on some wheels and tyres I'm looking at getting, i have a Razor Blue Arctic edition mk2.5, thinking of Rota Grid Drift 15", possibly in matte bronze, or maybe sticking with silver, maybe gunmetal as an outside choice.

Tyres wise, I was thinking Toyo T1Rs, had them on my girlfriend's mgf for 5 years and they never missed a beat..

Thoughts? Open to any criticism or opinion!

Just fitted T1Rs on mine, I find that they have a soft sidewall and benefit from being a couple of psi higher than usual.

What's your budget and what do you use the car for? ie. track, road, wet, dry...

Grids an Toyos are beyond common, practically the default choice for a lot of MX5 owners who want to get into "stanced/slammed" look.

I was hoping this thread would be about some rare alloys.

It still could be about something more rare, the last thing I'm after is a slammed/stance bs thread, I'm old enough to want more than that, open to any views and opinions on anything similar or of a decent price, I'm not sold on anything yet, and again, the Toyos were something that was good on another car we had!

As before, any other options are gladly going to be looked at, I was hoping to get citique and avice in the same post, but half of it aint bad! wink

I always think the Rota RBs look good.

Can't help with tyres.

That's what I put in my Mk2.5 Montana.

Graphite RBs with polished lip and T1Rs.

Still miss that car frown

Just Google JDM Wheels or old school / old/ classic JDM wheels there are so so many 4x100 designs that would be suitable for a mx5

eg: https://www.pinterest.com/pin/554787247818407638/

LOADS of images of wheels that in my opinion are far more appealing than Rotas

Try MOT Motorsport, they have some Traklite wheels which have varying styles, certainly not just the norm

My 2 sets of wheels...
OZ Racing Superturissmo 17". These are my road wheels.

Rota Circuit 10 15". These are now reserved as track tyres. I prefer the feel of the 17s on the road and 195/50/15 track tyres are a fraction of the cost of 205/40/17.

Those 17s really modernise the look of the car Lazza.

The likes of Rota RB look great on a Mk1 as it's a retro design but I always think that the Mk2 really suits a mulit-spoke design.
