I've been fabricating a custom iPad mount to take my iPad Mini in place of the headunit.

I'd seen the stuff that SoundmanCA makes and slider mount was the only one he made that was powered, but requiring the ipad to slide sideways meant the mount is too wide for the MX5 dash. The Flip mount he makes doesn't support a power supply.

So this one I've made lets you insert the iPad at an angle and press it flat into the holder, and supports a power supply. I'm using the iStreamer to handle the audio output and power supply (although it doesn't provide enough power to charge it, it provides enough power to prevent it discharging)

It's almost finished, but with the car at the bodyshop I'm relying on my measurements to have fabricated it this far. Once I get the car back, I'll be testing it for fit and, assuming all goes well, be lining and wrapping it to make it look the part.

It's also my first attempt at doing any sort of composite fabrication, hence the filler to tidy up any small voids that were left.
