New MX-5 owner in Deal, Kent
Discussion
Hi All,
Long time reader, first time poster/forum signer-upper. After wanting one since my teens, at the age of 33, I finally bought my first mk1 Roadster a couple of weeks ago. I'm keen to do her up a bit, but beyond cleaning/polishing, I'm not really sure what to do next! I have started a blog http://riona6ce.wordpress.com/ that has a few pictures.
Don't think she's any sort of special edition, but she's a looker (at least I think so anyway :-) ). Guess what I'm after is some general advice, and perhaps, if I totally luck out, somebody in the Deal area who'd be up for giving her a look over, and revealing some of the mysteries going on under the bonnet, and what I, as a novice, can hope to accomplish.
Thanks for reading!

Congrats on your purchase, it looks like it's a V-Special but with a few changes, such as steering wheel, gear knob and handbrake.

I'm sure there are a few PHers down in your area, but I know the MX5OC South East region is pretty active with a lot of members. You can also try MX5Nutz.

Thanks for your reply! A V-Special eh? That's great to know. Yes, previous owner put in a 'professional' steering wheel, sparco gear knob and chrome handbrake. Not sure on any of the additions, but as I didn't have much to go on regarding previous owner (second hand dealer who'd taken her as a part-ex), I took it as a good sign that at least at some point, somebody took the trouble to do SOMETHING!http://www.dandycars.com/Frequently_Asked_Question...

MX5Nutz is blocked from my work PC (Booo), but have a profile up there too. Not committed to the MX5OC but seems inevitable that I will.

Thanks Digby, I have just registered for an account there too, awaiting approval. I have sworn off FB for almost 4 years now, but thinking I might have to get an mx-5/roadster specific account going for all the groups/events/meet ups that seem to form an essential part of this community! Submitted another post to the blog for anyone interested http://riona6ce.wordpress.com/Friendly bunch on there. Most are Kent based and surrounding. Also have a FB page
