I'm looking for an MX5 (mk1 ideally) thats road legal and got a few months of MOT and Tax on it for a project. If she's rotten and won't pass her next MOT, but it legal and safe until then that would be perfect. Soft tops only, £300 ONO ideally. I'll only say the words "quadcopter" and "stupid" about the project biggrin

North East ideally, or a couple of hours drive from Newcastle.

For that price I'd keep an eye out on ebay or gumtree. Nutz or the OC may occasionally come up with a cheapie.

I don't know if this will be much use to you but I'm about to start breaking a 91 Eunos. It's neither taxed nor MOT'd. Sills are gone amongst other things but mechanically very good. My intention was to sell off individual components then scrap the shell but depending on what you actually need, maybe we could come up with a deal. I'm in Low Fell, Gateshead so presumably pretty close by.

Yes, you're round the corner. I'm the P reg MK1 in green you might have seen around with all the weird Japanese stickers on it (important a few months ago). Sadly I need something road legal until end of August other wise I'd have been round like a shot.

Sadly that one's not road legal either - give him a buzz this morning frown

Isn't a pre-cat legislation MX5 or Eunos a thing to be saved rather than broken for spares anyway Absolutely perfect to pop a pair of webers on, surely!

Unfortunately it's rusted right into the floor pan and near enough the whole sill on both sides. It's really not in a good way at all, looks like it's been very neglected. Luckily, I have another one smile

Not when the rust has gotten hold of it, mx5 rust from the inside out if its bad on the outside its fked on the inside. Now if your a welder and don't mind hours cutting crap out and welding new metal in go for it but for me rather save the good ones not rotten unloved cars.

I don't disagree with that at all. I have welded some very badly corroded series 2.5s, far too badly corroded for their age, and less appealing than a Mk1
