Alarm goes off when using key instead of remote
Discussion
Hello all
I recently left my remote keyfob at a friend's house after a heavy night out and I need to use the car in the meantime with my spare key (which has no transmitter fob). When I open the car using the spare key the alarm goes off and the hazards run. If I turn on the ignition/engine the alarm goes off eventually but the hazards keep flashing.
I'm going to pick up the remote at the weekend but is there any way I can disable the immobiliser or somehow make it work as normal using just the key in the meantime? I don't mind if the alarm goes off but the hazards flashing all the way to her house means I won't be able to make a single signal on the M8, which is a bit of a scary thought.
Any help much appreciated. The car's manual isn't very helpful -- it just says unlocking the door will stop the alarm, which doesn't seem to work!
