What do you think of these arches?

Hi guys looking to buy this car but would like your opinion on the arches. To be honest, I dont mind spending a few hundred quid to get it sorted but the garage said they will get it sorted out if its a deal breaker.

Its like that on the rear both sides, front is fine, sills are fine.

Yeah the rust isnt major and doesn't go through the metal at all.

What would I need to get rid of the colour though? to make it all green, does it need a spray?

You would need to sand them back then spray them, pretty time-consuming job to do properly,they really don't appear too bad,i'd be tempted to leave them

Don't just leave them that how terminal arch rust sets in this and not clearing the roof drains. Get it sorted as soon as you can or in a few years time it will look like this

If its a mk1 the rails wont be to much of a worry the mk2.5 is the main worry for front chassis rust which is terminal.

But the car in pictures has had new arches fitted and painted will be back to me soon to go for sale.
