bolt on arches and spacers?

I really like the appearance of miatas/mx5s with the bolt on arches, but I'm not going to buy a complete new set of wide wheels & tyres just for a visual change.

Has anyone used spacers to offset the wheels a bit? I'm not wanting a huge offset, just enough to allow some small bolt on arch extensions to look right.

Are there reputable places to get spacers and arches?
