Hi, Just bought a v spec mk1 with a whining box, car runs great and changes gear with no issues but it's really loud and annoying is there a quick fix like changing the oil or is it a gearbox out job? Look forward to your comments Cheers Tim
Depends on what the noise is and how bad it is. These are small light cars with not a lot of sound proofing and it might just be that its a "normal" noise. Can you describe the noise?
Hi, Definitely not normal as I have another mk1 that makes no noise, the noise is in every gear and mainly on de acceleration at low speeds. Sounds a bit like a super charger or an old mg roadster.
