I'm going to try and adjust my base idle at the weekend because my car tries to stall sometimes when approaching junctions. I've watched the YouTube video on bridging the GRND and TEN to put the car into reset mode, but I don't know what to use to actually bridge the two - it looked like the bloke in the video was using a paper clip.

Any advice?

A short length of wire with the ends twisted, or with terminals on the end is best

Any particular sort of wire? Or will just anything do the job?

I think we've just used an unraveled paper clip.

paperclip or a short of (any) electrical wire with the ends stripped

You're over-thinking the problem biggrin It's just a logic signal to tell the ECU to go into test mode (and butt out of the idle control strategy). Minimal current, nothing to worry about

Anything that will make an electrical connection; paperclip, random bit of wire, scrunched up tinfoil..

Don't be surprised if it (appears) to make absolutely zero difference either!
